 WELCOME!

Welcome to the website of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-11.  We are located at the Jackson Park Yacht Club, 6400 Promontory Dr., Chicago, IL 60649. That's at Jackson Park Harbor across the street from La Rabida Children's Hospital, on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois and we meet the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

As a unit, we perform Boating Safety missions and other duties as directed by the U.S. Coast Guard.  We are all volunteers and our commitment is to provide the services and information to the boating public to foster a better understanding of safety on the water.

Here are some of the many activities we perform:

Boating Safety Activities

Safety Patrol

River patrol for safety and security is just one of the many things Auxiliary members do.  Auxiliarists also perform Marine Security Patrols and Safety Patrols.  Some of the patrols are for special events such as Regatta Safety, crowd control at special events such as the Air and Water Show and the Mac Race.

Partner Visits

We regularly visit Marine Dealers, other businesses, schools and other places where the boating public gathers, to pass the word about programs and information on Safe Boating.  These organizations help keep the boating public safe by providing information on all sorts of programs designed especially for the boater or anyone interested in boating.

Vessel Safety Checks

When we perform Vessel Safety Examinations of boats, we also teach safety on the water.  We inspect the boat with the owner's permission and check his or her vessel to make sure everything is safe and in accordance with all regulations.  The Vessel Examination is free and strictly voluntary.  We show boaters how to be safer and work with them to increase their boating and safety knowledge.
